If you’re a lawyer working in the social justice sector you may find yourself interacting with clients experiencing extremely difficult circumstances, and this in turn can make them quite challenging to work with.
This program explores frameworks and techniques for looking after yourself in these situations, particularly where your own physical or psychological safety may be threatened or compromised. Developing skills and understanding how to effectively communicate with clients – and others in the system – while your welfare and health remains intact is the primary focus of this two day program.
A balanced combination of experiential role plays, facilitated group sessions and relevant theory and frameworks results in high impact program which has already assisted numerous social justice sector lawyers. Participants are charged with new ideas, knowledge and the confidence to implement new strategies and tools to interact safely and effectively with challenging clients and stakeholders.
Content includes dysfunctional and functional dynamics, managing hard-to-hear messages, physical and psychological safety, and developing personal resilience.
