Leadership and Management Challenges of In-house Legal Counsel

book cover

IKD is pleased to announce the release of Leadership and Management Challenges of In-house Legal Counsel, published by LexisNexis Butterworths Australia. Edited by Dr Benny Tabalujan, director of IKD, this book is believed to be the first book in Australia which is wholly dedicated to the in-house legal profession. Recently launched in Melbourne (Melbourne Business School, Oct 2008) and Sydney (ACLA National Conference, Nov 2008), the book is written by highly respected and experienced in-house counsel and consultants from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The book covers a host of practical issues faced by in-house lawyers in corporations as well as government organisations.  It commences with an introductory chapter by Peter Turner, CEO of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, and then examines topics such as: transitioning into an in-house counsel role; managing workload; professional development of in-house counsel; how to strategically lead a legal team; measuring the performance of legal teams; and insights into a typical day of leading a global legal team.

Written in a readable style combining Australian and Asia Pacific perspectives, this book will appeal to those leading large or smaller legal teams, those transitioning in-house, as well as other professionals interested in the in-house legal role.
