Jil’s key expertise is in three broad leadership areas; strategic thinking, executive presence and managing the ‘Egosystem’. For over ten years her professional focus has been with IKD developing the leadership ability of lawyers, doctors and other technical experts. Jil has worked in the area of business education and leadership development for over 25 years in both corporate and academic settings. As part of the Professional Development Centre at Monash University in the 1990s she designed leadership programs for academic and general staff and from there moved into the corporate sector, taking up organisational development roles in the telecommunications industry. In 1999 Jil established the Institute of Knowledge Development, a wholly owned subsidiary of Freehills, the law firm. In 2008, IKD became independent. As a Director of the Institute of Knowledge Development (IKD) she has grown the business and its reputation as a leading provider of business education globally. IKD is known for its leadership development work with two key groups including technical experts and general executives. Jil’s professional focus is on creating leadership development programs that incorporate both theory and experience and produce valuable outcomes for organisations. She is a program designer and facilitator and an executive coach, operating in the Australasian and Asian Pacific region. She has designed and facilitated leadership programs organisations including National Australia Bank, BHBP, ANZ, Babcock & Brown, and Macquarie Bank and Telstra. In the leadership development domain for technical experts she has worked with The Alfred Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Freehills, Maddocks and Landers and Rodgers. In addition, Jil has also provided educational and professional development services to government, not for profit, community and arts sectors organisations including World Vision, Victoria Legal Aid, Berry Street Victoria, and The Frankston Arts Centre. Jil is an associate of the Leadership Consortium and Melbourne Business School (MBS) She is highly sought after as a speaker at executive business and industry forums, addressing topical issues related to business and organisational leadership.
