Jil Toovey, Director, has deep expertise in the area of professional development for lawyers. With a background in education and a career in leadership development for senior executives spanning 25 years, she is well versed in emerging ideas and research relating to leadership development. Jil’s focus over the past decade has been leadership development for lawyers.
Lawyers are often ambitious but can be limited by their perfectionist and risk-averse thinking. Jil’s work respects these professional tendencies whilst ensuring the learning produces insights based on evidence and the practical application of theory. This method supports the rapid development of new skills, attitudes and behaviours for legal professionals.
Jil designs and delivers programs to enhance the performance of legal teams, and provides coaching to individual lawyers. The focus of the coaching is on career advancement and requirements to produce outstanding results. Jil’s passion is professional development that produces extraordinary outcomes. These outcomes include personal insight, tangible performance results, and increased levels of enjoyment and professional fulfilment for individual lawyers.
Jil’s client base includes Partners of law firms, General Counsel of global corporations, and Senior Managers in the Social Justice sector. She has designed and facilitated leadership programs for lawyers in organisations including National Australia Bank, BHP, ANZ, Caltex, Macquarie Bank and Telstra.
