As a Senior Principal Consultant at IKD, Geoffrey is passionate about supporting lawyers in their professional development by forming partnerships that assist in achieving personal, organisational or commercial goals. He has the ability to link learning objectives with commercial reality, resulting in measurable development. Geoffrey’s specialisation is in leadership, team development and executive coaching for lawyers.
Since joining IKD in 2007, Geoffrey has designed and facilitated programs specifically for in-house and private practice lawyers on developing effective client relationships, managing workload, leadership, emotional intelligence, executive presence and presentation skills. He also facilitates IKD’s three day residential Lawyers Leadership Program and two day Lawyers in the Limelight program.
Geoffrey’s has had 18 years experience in adult education, learning and development and generalist HR management. His commercial approach has been sharpened through senior roles in directorates of global organisations, leading both HR and national learning and development functions at IKD, GlaxoSmithKline and IKEA respectively.
Geoffrey’s has an adaptable and personable style and well developed interpersonal skills. Geoffrey’s legal clients have included Telstra, ACCC, ANZ, Freehills, GlaxoSmithKline, Victoria Legal Aid, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Hall and Wilcox and Caltex.
Geoffrey’s qualifications are in Business Communications (Journalism), Employee Relations and Human Resource Management, with additional accreditations in MBTI, Executive Coaching and Emotional Intelligence 360 feedback and coaching. He facilitates annually at The Leadership Consortium’s Senior Executive Forum and has supported the development of business leaders in Australia, NZ, China and Japan.
