As a Director of IKD Benny specialises in consulting to lawyers and in-house counsel on strategic management, managing workload, governance and ethics, measuring work performance and commerciality. In 2008 Benny developed and led the team which successfully launched the innovative IKD Legal Scores performance measurement index for in-house legal teams. Benny also edited Leadership and Management Challenges of In-house Legal Counsel , published by LexisNexis, Australia, in 2008.
Benny has worked in Singapore, Hong Kong and Melbourne as a lawyer, academic and consultant. He was an award-winning Associate Professor at the Nanyang Business School in Singapore and he continues to undertake consulting assignments and conduct professional development programs in Asia on a regular basis. A sought-after facilitator with an established track record, Benny has consulted to and worked with teams from a range of public and private sector organisations including Telstra, Horizon Power, BHP Billiton, Newmont, BankWest, Coles Myer, Rio Tinto, Minter Ellison, Freehills, Slaughter & May, Allen & Gledhill, Cold Storage Singapore, Victoria Legal Aid, National Australia Bank, and Newmont.
Benny has undergraduate degrees in law and economics from Monash University as well as a Master of Laws and a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Reflecting his interest in law and business, Benny has been an adjunct Associate Professor at the Melbourne Law School and Melbourne Business School in the University of Melbourne since 2003, teaching in their LLM and MBA programs.
